(WBAL, September 26) The Drug Enforcement Administration recently announced the launch of its 360 Strategy in Baltimore. The initiative aims to fight the opioid epidemic in the city.
"This is a stunning visual and a powerful visual for us to literally be standing here, shoulder to shoulder," said Robert K. Hur, U.S. attorney for Maryland. He was joined by local law enforcement officials, government leaders, industry leaders and other people from the community.
During the announcement, officials spoke about how opioid addiction affects them personally.
"I have a close relative I don't want to identify, and I have watched the struggle with opioids," Attorney General Brian Frosh said during the press conference.
"I have a brother that had an opioid addiction," said Baltimore City Interim Police Commissioner Gary Tuggle. Read more.
