(WMUR, May 3) Drug overdose deaths rose during the month of April in Manchester. There were seven deaths last month, compared to two deaths during April 2018.
The American Medical Response projects that Manchester will have 72 overdose deaths by the end of 2019 – which would be an increase of 20 over last year.
What could be behind the increase?
“I think it could be a stronger form of fentanyl or it could be that people are used to a certain amount of fentanyl so now they need to take more,” Chris Stawasz, regional director of American Medical Response, told WMUR. The number of overall overdoses did go down, however. Read more.
