Significant Drug Threat: ER Visits

Emergency department visits as a result of opioid use jumped 28 percent in New Hampshire between January and December of 2016.1

Manchester’s home county, Hillsborough, had the most emergency department visits in the state with 2,501. The county with the second most visits, Strafford, had 961 visits.

People ages 20 to 29 had the largest percentage of opioid related visits – 2,443. The 30-39 year old age group was right behind them with 1,889 visits.

Males made up more than half of the state’s opioid related emergency department visits.
