223 a day logo(March 12) The Addiction Policy Forum recently launched the 223aDay campaign to raise awareness of the people who die due to substance misuse every day in the country.

The organization first launched this awareness campaign in 2016 with 129aDay, which was based on the CDC's reports of 129 deaths due to overdose in 2014.

Unfortunately the numbers have grown since then. Between June 2019 and May 2020, a staggering 81,230 people (223 per day) died due to drug overdose.
