Former Addict Turned Neuroscientist Offers Insight on Addiction

Judith GriselNew York Times Best Selling author and neuroscientist Dr. Judith Grisel will discuss the root causes of drug addiction and her own personal journey to recovery.  Dr. Judith Grisel was a daily drug user and college dropout when she became determined to find a cure for her addiction. After studying the brain for 25 years as a neuroscientist she shares her knowledge with the public.  Her book “Never Enough” reveals her personal insights about how drugs work, how they impact the brain, and the way to combat addiction. Grisel describes what drove her to addiction and what helped her recover.

Dr. Grisel is a behavioral neuroscientist with an expertise in pharmacology. Her genetics research focuses on determining the root causes of drug addiction. She is a Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science will offer a public lecture on August 23rd from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m in the Dyna Theater. Dr. Grisel’s book “Never Enough” will be available for purchase. Guests can also get a copy of the book signed by the author.
