(December 13, 2018) Last month, DEA’s Philadelphia 360 program teamed up with Temple University and CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) to hold a fun, action-packed, anti-drug summit for local elementary school students.
During the event, the students saw a K9 presentation and a skit by the Temple University drama department that was based on real-life experiences they could face.
They also got to practice new dance moves with local break dance group Hip Hop Fundamentals, and learn about the consequences of drug use by spinning the “Wheel of Misfortune.” At the end of the summit, Temple University football players sat and had lunch with the students.
“What really matters is what the kids get out of it and I think they have really got a very positive day,” DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Shawn Ellerman. “They understand the messages, think twice and say no to drug and drug abuse.”
