Teens use trophies, pillows, heating vents to hide drugs, experts told N.J. parents

(NorthJersey.com, May 11) Parents in Wayne County New Jersey recently got an up-close look at where teens may be hiding drugs from local prevention experts.

At a forum, presented by the Center of Prevention Services and sponsored by Wayne police, the Wayne Alliance and the local Board of Education, parents searched a mock teenager’s bedroom (created on a high school’s stage) for drugs hidden in “plain sight.”

Among the items hidden were: a smoking device made out of a highlighter, pills hidden inside of a stuffed animal and a baggie of fake marijuana taped behind a game board on a shelf, the site reports. 

"Wayne Township faces the same problems as every other community in the state of New Jersey," said Mayor Chris Vergan. Read more.
