The annual Red Ribbon Week Patch program is a unique opportunity for Girl and Boy Scouts across the nation to earn patches by participating in drug education and prevention activities.
If you're short on ideas, take a look at a few great activities that Scouts did to earn patches during the 2021 program:
Partnered with Victoria County Sheriff Department Drug enforcement K-9 units for drug free presentation and demonstration with K-9 officers.
-GSGST (greater South Texas Girl Scouts)
Hosted multiple sessions about the dangers of drugs. Started by showing the red ribbon week music video and conducted multiple virtual streams with guest speakers about drugs.
- National Capital Area
Made posters about benefit of being drug free, presented to friends.
- Gateway council
Our Troop partnered with our school counselor to distribute red ribbon week materials. Created posters about drug awareness and placed them around the school. Handed out ribbons to students during lunch/recess and addressed drug awareness during the morning announcements during the week of Red Ribbon week.
- Girl Scouts of Western Ohio
The troop setup a display at outside the churches teen and young adult rooms with literature, posters and school supplies for people to take. Also, the boys set up a table for after church services and manned the table to talk to people.
