Last Updated: Monday December 22, 2025
(Grayson County News, Kentucky) The Grayson County Health Department's newly established Youth Community Health Committee recently completed a survey of local retailers' sales of nicotine and THC and are sharing their findings with the public.
According to Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) Health Educator Jessica Rusher, the Youth Community Health Committee consists of students from Grayson County High School, is a spin-off from Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center's adult health committee, and serves to promote youth involvement in local health issues.
"We see the need for youth involvement and the voices of youth in the county," Rusher said.

Nine students were trained to complete the retail survey, and among their findings, the committee discovered that of the 18 locations surveyed — which consisted of seven grocery stores, seven convenience stores, and four vape shop/tobacco outlets — 61% sold ENDS (e-cigarettes, vapes, and other electronic nicotine delivery systems), and 100% of the stores that sold vapes sold non-FDA authorized vapes.
